We were so excited to spend time with Dawn Ohama - an electrician, owner of ATT Electric and an instructor at Keyano College! Not only did we talk about what it's like running your own business, but we also discussed frog legs, volleyball, dealing with big feelings and more! Thank you so much for being our very first guest Dawn!

Tonight we got to design our own Fall 2023 HeartSpark logo with Mercy of Oak & Aspen Design. We also talked about collaboration, overcoming adversity and finding a way to do what you love as a job.

Mercy from Oak & Aspen Design worked with the girls to create their own logo for our Fall 2023 session. Mrs Pudding got to be centre stage!

We were so excited to meet Cst. Perry from the Wood Buffalo RCMP. We talked about our safety, finding hope in a sometimes scary world, compassion and empathy, and so much more! We also got to explore her vehicle - those flashing lights are bright!

This week we met Sonia Burke-Smith, who shared the story of the Talking Feather with us and also helped us create our own Talking Feathers. We talked about communication and best ways to listen and speak respectfully.

We had four times the fun with Taylor, Paige, Sarah and Sandra from The Agency Fort McMurray. These fearless female realtors brought lots of snacks, talked about friendships at all ages, and led us on a challenging leadership activity (made extra difficult when then lights went out). It was another chance to see all the talent in our group.

We had an amazing time visiting Kelly (wearing the gear) and Charlie at our Fort McMurray Fire Department's Fire Hall 3. Not only did we get to test out how heavy these strong fire fighters' gear was, we also got an inside look at alllll the interesting and useful things they carry in their trucks. We talked about how important it is in their line of work for teamwork and ensuring everyone is accounted for at all times. We are so inspired by our local fire fighters!

Our session this week saw Registered Dietician Amanda Strang of Seed & Sprout Nutrition talk about Nourishing Foods (foods that help fuel our bodies) vs Soul Foods (foods that comfort us and are tasty treats).
